Chilean Drone Regulations – Updated as of 5/21/2015
Chile does not allow drone use for commercial purposes, only for hobbyist. Chilean Drone Regulations include:
- Aircraft must weigh less than six kilograms (13 pounds)
- They must have parachutes to prevent a fast, heavy fall
- Operators must obtain a license and register drone with the Civil Aviation Authority
- Flight must not be higher than 130 meters
- Aircraft must not be flown more than 500 meters from its operator
- Night use is prohibited
- Must not fly over large events
- Must not fly within two kilometers (1.2 miles) of an airport
