Drone Safety and Firework Displays
For public safety, if you are attending a fireworks show please leave your drone home. This drone safety precaution could prevent damage to people, property, and your UAV.
Flying aircraft near fireworks simply sounds like a bad idea, right? Ahead of the Boston Fourth of July celebrations the Massachusetts State Police issued the following notice about drone safety precautions being taken:
“It will be illegal to operate any unmanned aircraft (Drones, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, Unmanned Aircraft Systems) in and around the Boston Esplanade during July 3 and 4. Anyone operating one would be doing so illegally and could face Federal or State charges.”
We applaud this decision and encourage others to follow-suit, avoiding risk during these celebrations.
