Ohio Sees Expansion in Commercial Drone Applications

Drones Continue to Find Work in Ohio SOURCE:http://www.govtech.com/products/Drones-Continue-to-Find-Work-in-Ohio.html (TNS) — Paul and Deborah Bach first bought a drone because they wanted to keep an eye on the construction of a pipeline in three parts of their farmland outside Elmore, Ohio. And while that quickly helped the Bachs identify several areas where construction activity had damaged their field tile, they soon learned of other tasks for which aerial video is useful. In particular, Mr. Bach has been using his drone to identify parts of his fields with insect damage, “and you…

Precision Agriculture – A case study on crop scouting

Precision agriculture, and crop scouting in particular, has taken off via the the use of drone technology.  Expect this to continue through 2015. Our friends at Event 38 first wrote this article on crop scouting in August of 2014.  However, the information is so valuable that we decided we would share it with you now. Precision Agriculture Through recent advancements in drone technology, the cost of collecting vast amounts of information on large areas of land has decreased to pennies per acre. New, sophisticated sensors let us gather data at…

AgEagle shares their thoughts on Precision Agriculture

AgEagle helps farmers maximize crop yield (and profits) through Precision Agriculture We reached out to AgEagle to learn a bit about their business and about precision agriculture. Q. Your site notes that you can help farmers increase their yields, how so? A farmer can now see the condition of his crops over the entire field instead of just a couple of walk about spots. The images can be converted into prescription maps, so if there is a crop condition that has a remedy (insect infestation, mold, etc) the map can be…
